Annual Fund

Your gift to the Annual Fund goes towards meeting the current operating needs of the school. This means the Annual Fund helps Stevens afford teacher salaries, financial aid, classroom supplies and other typical school expenses.

Tuition only covers 85 percent of the average independent school’s operating income. In order to provide a Stevens education to as many qualified students as possible, it's important that we seek to maintain relatively affordable tuition levels. Raising tuition to cover all costs would make an independent school education out of reach for all but the wealthiest families.

Stevens Cooperative School relies on your gifts to meet its annual operating expenses, to continue its tradition of offering an exceptional education through progressive practices, and to provide opportunities to qualified students through its financial aid program. Additionally, participation in the Annual Fund by families encourages outside entities, including corporations and nonprofit organizations, to make their own contributions. High participation rates also provide opportunities for Stevens to apply for private and state grants, magnifying the impact of each gift made!

Yes. Stevens is a non-profit institution, and contributions are tax deductible to the fullest extent allowable by law.

Yes. As an accredited elementary school and a registered 501(c)3 institution, the school qualifies for most matching gift programs, including those offered through the United Way and many employers. If you are not sure if your company offers a match, please visit our Matching Gifts page to search for your company.

Our yearly fundraisers, including the Annual Gala, are a great opportunity to go above and beyond in supporting Stevens! While contributions to these events do not count toward participation in the Annual Fund, they help support the development of new programs for the school and expand our opportunities beyond the operating budget.

Yes, names of donors are listed in our school’s Annual Report. If you would prefer to remain anonymous, please contact the Development Office.

After you make a gift you will receive a ‘Thank You’ letter mailed to your home with tax information. If you make your gift online, you will also receive an automatic receipt acknowledging your gift! Please contact the Development Office if you need assistance.
