The foundation of our progressive education roots begin with the PreK 3 class, as teachers frame their teaching around students’ interests and experiences. This model ensures that learning is meaningful to students and helps PreK 3s make better sense of the world around them. As early childhood educators, we know that young children are constantly discovering new things about themselves. It is important to ground their learning in experiences that are relevant to them, while also creating an environment where they can question their ideas and expand their world views. Our hope is that during their time at Stevens, children will deepen their love of learning, develop a thoughtful awareness of themselves and others, and have the confidence to pursue their passions.
