PreK 3s - Kindergarten
Students in Stevens’ Early Childhood Program learn through play, exploration, and discovery. Our classroom environments provide opportunities for students to interact with blocks, dramatic play, art, science tools, musical instruments, and many other hands-on materials to explore and create with each day. Through play, students learn how to interact with peers using their words, share, take turns, and solve problems. Our early childhood learners practice social skills, such as cooperation and collaborative group work, while forming friendships, gaining self-confidence, and acquiring the ability to work together within a larger community.
We provide a learning environment with clear routines, expectations, and goals. The students learn by seeing, thinking, and wondering about their environment, other people, and objects. At Stevens, rather than providing the answers, we create opportunities and the tools each child needs to discover answers for themselves. Children at Stevens become critical thinkers and take ownership and pride in their learning and are at the heart of everything we do.
