We understand and champion the fact that children learn best in an environment where they can be themselves. Students in Stevens’ Early Childhood Program learn through play, exploration, and joyful discovery. Our mindfully created preschool classroom environments provide opportunities for students to interact with blocks, dramatic play, art, science tools, musical instruments, and many other hands-on materials to explore and create with each day. Through play, students learn how to interact with peers using their words, share, take turns, and solve problems. Our early childhood learners practice social skills, such as cooperation and collaborative group work, while forming friendships, gaining self-confidence, and acquiring the ability to work together within a larger community in kind and caring ways.

We provide an engaging learning environment characterized by clear routines and appropriate expectations. The students learn by seeing, thinking and wondering about their environment, other people, and objects. At Stevens, rather than providing the answers, we create opportunities and the tools each child needs to discover the answers for themselves. Children and adults at Stevens engage as keen observers and thinkers and learn each day with energy, vibrancy, and enthusiasm.
