The Stevens community is a connected and active body of students, faculty, staff, parents and families. Family-oriented events, workshops, "fun"-raisers and parent gatherings are all an essential part of school life. Parents and families engage in community-building events that include:
Parent Education Workshops are held several times during the year to provide information and insights on timely issues affecting children, pre-teens and teens. Recent workshops have addressed cyberbullying, raising resilient girls and preparing for the high school admissions process.
Parent Coffees are held by grade on school days with morning and evening options. These gatherings are held with the head of school and/or campus principal and provide parents the opportunity to socialize and learn more about the school’s curriculum and educational philosophy.
A number of popular events that bring our entire Stevens community together include Cabaret, the annual middle school talent show, the Student vs. Faculty Basketball Game and the International Potluck Dinner, where families share food and ethnic heritage. Extended family and friends are welcomed into the Stevens community during the Grandparents and Special Friends Day held at both the Newport and Hoboken campuses.
Parent-Child Mind-Building Workshops for PreK and Kindergarten families are a wonderful way for parents and kids to explore a topic (architecture, mathematics, literacy and more) together and meet other families.
The 5K Run/Walk, a fundraiser held in the spring, is a fun and healthy way for families to show their support for Stevens.
The Annual Spring Auction, the school’s premier fundraising event, is an adult evening for parents, alumni parents, friends, faculty and staff to mingle and support the goal of Stevens to continue to thrive sustainably.
