Every Moment Counts

A Stevens education encourages inquiry, critical thinking and collaborative problem solving.

Purposeful learning, every moment of every day, is why Stevens graduates are More Than Ready for success in high school and beyond.

Early Notification Program

Stevens is pleased to offer an Early Notification Program to interested families applying to entry grades (2-year-olds - Kindergarten). Early Notification for grades 1st - 7th is determined by availability only. For more information and application deadlines, please see below.

Should you choose to participate in the Early Notification Program, please check the appropriate box on your child’s application. Early Notification participants are required to submit their application by December 1. Due to the limited number of interview spaces, we encourage interested families to submit their applications as early as possible. Admissions decisions will be made available on the Admissions Progress Page of the Parent/Guardian Portal.

It is possible that due to a limited number of spaces in a particular grade or class, applicants will not be considered for Early Notification in that grade. In that case, the admissions office will contact candidate families as early as possible.

Families who choose not to participate in the Early Notification Program are welcome to follow the traditional admissions cycle, and submit a regular application by January 4. Decisions for regular admissions will be sent via email on March 1.

New Families applying to our Early Childhood Programs

Stevens offers an Early Notification Program to families who are not yet members of the community. Early notification is accepted for families applying for early childhood grades (2s, 3s, PreK and Kindergarten). We will accept Early Notification applications for some older grades if space is available for the next school year. The plan is intended to expedite the admissions process for those who are interested in receiving an earlier admissions decision.

Current Families, Faculty/Staff and Legacy Families

Stevens Cooperative School is committed to a policy of affording siblings of currently enrolled students, children of graduates, children of full-time faculty at Stevens, and Newport residents applying to the Newport Campus a preference in the Stevens admission process. In accordance with this policy, Stevens offers an optional Early Notification Program for these applicants. The plan is intended to expedite the admissions process for those who are already part of our school community. Early Notification also benefits the school by clarifying the number of places available for the general applicant pool.

Stevens is a diverse community in many ways, but also a school that carefully considers the best placement for each child. We recognize the fact that we may not be the best fit for every child in a family. For this reason, we strongly encourage all families to consider applying to several schools to ensure that their child will have other choices should Stevens not be an optimal fit. Preference is not a guarantee of admission nor of a space in a particular campus/class. If the applicant is qualified, acceptance and class assignment is offered at the school’s discretion.
