Lower School (1st - 4th Grade)
In the Lower School, students develop a love of learning through an intellectually stimulating curriculum and classroom environment specifically tailored to a child’s need for safety and routine. Stevens’ elementary school teachers create a supportive learning community that nurtures curious minds and encourages our students to tackle new challenges. Through this process, our Lower School learners continue to build upon their foundational math, reading, writing and critical thinking skills, further develop a sense of identity and confidence, and grow an appreciation for different forms of self-expression through multiple disciplines, such as the arts and sciences.
Over the course of their years in the Lower School, students shift from the play-based exploration of Early Childhood and begin preparing for the analytical and organizational demands of Middle School.
