Raising Our Profile
In 1949, Stevens was founded by the community, for the community. For 75 years we’ve shaped ourselves to meet our students’ needs. When those needs change, we evolve, improve and innovate to ensure we’re giving our students the best educational experience possible. One of the ways we do that is recognizing when it’s time to level up.
The Forever Stevens Endowment for Financial Aid
Stevens first began offering tuition assistance more than half a century ago, and since then our community has continued to grow more expensive. We believe all children should have access to a Stevens education regardless of their socioeconomic circumstances. Our first endowment, dedicated entirely to financial aid, will ensure that $2 million is invested in our community’s socioeconomic diversity, ensuring that we can remain a standard-bearer for progressive education while remaining committed to the well-being of our community.
45th Annual Gala
What began in the early years of Stevens as a series of flea markets, spaghetti dinners, and auctions culminated this year in the largest, most successful Gala in school history. With more than 400 community members in attendance, appearances by the mayor of Jersey City, the family of our founder, Mary S. Baker, and Barbara Greaves, the inaugural recipient of the Baker award, it was a night that set a new standard for fundraising at Stevens.
Development Events
Social events have always been a part of life as a member of the Cooperative. This year, we took the step of adding more opportunities for families to connect with each other and learn more about our fundraising efforts, advancement priorities, and the different ways they can get involved. From evenings in downtown Jersey City and Hoboken to get-togethers with community members who work at Goldman Sachs, the Development Office is committed to forging new partnerships within our incredible community.
