Stevens Cooperative School fosters curiosity, compassion and confidence in students who think deeply, act ethically and lead by example.
The values in our mission – curiosity, compassion and confidence – aren’t just qualities that we seek to instill our students. They also guide us as an institution when we leverage your support to ensure they have everything they need to succeed.
Curiosity
The Stevens spirit is exploratory, shaped by the needs and interests of our students. As their guides in learning, it’s our job to stand ready to respond to their curiosity. This year, your support helped us:
- Replace worn blocks in our Early Childhood and Lower School classrooms, and aging Chromebooks for our Middle School students
- Increase spending on Art supplies to replenish our stores to their pre-Covid levels
- Provide resources for our expanding Middle School elective/club programs
Compassion
For 75 years, Stevens has thrived on the belief that education is a cooperative endeavor enriched by diversity in all forms. Compassion lies at the heart of this approach. This year, your support helped us:
- Increase our financial aid budget to meet the needs of every family
- Expanded professional development opportunities to help faculty develop curricular resources and facilitate student affinity and alliance groups
- Expand our partnership with NOBIS Project to send 8th graders on dynamic service-learning trips to cities around the United States
Confidence
We believe students succeed in bold, safe environments where they can build the confidence to be themselves. Your support helps ensure those environments are the best they can be. This year, your support helped us:
- Furnish our River Street expansion and Bloomfield Street remodel
- Train faculty and staff to respond to a variety of school safety scenarios
- Build a full-time nursing team to cover both campuses post-COVID
- Upgrade our air purifiers and AED emergency devices school wide
