Introduction

Our Ongoing Sustainability and Flexibility

Dear Friends,

We are pleased to share the 2022-2023 Annual Report, which tells the story of a simply magical year of fundraising on behalf of our students. Thanks to our amazing community of families, alumni and friends, along with the support of many outside foundations and corporations, we raised a record-breaking amount for our Annual Fund!

As we kick off our 75th anniversary, we do so with boldness, confidence, and with deep appreciation for our special community. Our commitment to helping students to meet their greatest potential is more powerful than ever. Innovation and continuous improvement are centerpieces of our work, and the Annual Fund has allowed us to achieve new milestones that positively impact the student experience.  We could not do what we do without the stewardship of our families.

Last year, we adopted a new mission statement that states our goal to foster "curiosity, compassion and confidence" in our students. For this year's Annual Report, we decided to frame your support for Stevens using those same "three Cs." Generous financial gifts from our community members to the Annual Fund this year allowed us to think and plan with those qualities in mind, whether it was replacing aging resources and technology in our classrooms, sending middle schoolers on overnight service-learning trips, or expanding our financial aid budget to ensure every family's needs were met. Read more in Living Our Mission.

We thank Farad Lowther, our director of development and Liz Kordonsky, our development operations and events manager, for a dynamic and successful year of relationship-building and fundraising. We extend our appreciation to our Development Committee Chair Kat Blostein and our entire Development Committee for their strategic contributions to helping us to meet our goals. We also want to express our gratitude for the leadership of Joe Lacy, Raakhee Mirchandani and the Gala Committee for planning a spectacular and wildly successful 44th Annual Gala.

Now that we have achieved our largest annual fund goal ever, we are prepared to signal ongoing sustainability on a more profound level by establishing the Forever Stevens endowment for financial aid. We cannot achieve the goals we've set for this fund without the support of the entire community, but we know from experience that our partnership is capable of making the amazing - even the magical - seem possible.
