Our 30th Annual Auction was a huge success. Held this year at the newly
opened Westin Jersey City Newport more than 270 guests came to have a
fun evening and support the school. The evening for the guests began
with check-in and receiving their paddle number along with their
penny-raffle tickets. After distributing their raffle tickets among the
many penny-raffle choices, guests moved on to examine silent auction
items and begin their bidding. Our emcee for the evening was Natalie
Morales who first introduced Zoe Hauser, Head of School. Zoe welcomed
attendees reminding us that we were there to support the students and
their education at Stevens. Natalie then moved into the live portion of
the evening during which the auctioneers, Sharon Shahinian and Anthony
Giglio, pumped the bidding up generating excitement and intrigue.
All
during the evening, car raffle tickets continued to be sold for the
2009 Toyota Prius. At the end of the live auction, Jan Abernathy, Board
Chair, drew the winning number and announced that Brandon Raymond was
the winner of the car. Congratulations, Brandon!

Elysa Lyons and Sandy Grossman did an outstanding job! Thanks to
everyone who attended, who worked night-of, who secured ads for the
journal, donations for our bidding pleasure and who sold car raffle
tickets – and everyone, who helped make this a magical night on behalf
of the students of Stevens.
