Cultural Exchange Program

The 8th grade students are fortunate to enjoy a student exchange program with a bilingual school in Mexico City. Through this program the 8th grade students are able to experience a culture that is different from their own for ten days in March or April of each school year. They stay with a family, spend time in the school's classrooms and visit cultural and historic sites. The 8th grade students host their new found friends from Mexico, here in New Jersey, for ten days.

The rich foreign language program, including spanish and latin, and the extensive study of the Chichimec tribes of Mexico (Aztecs) help to prepare the 8th graders for their trip. Many students find they have secured long lasting friendships with their Mexican buddies and often return to visit during their high school years.

In Mexico

There are in the end only two main ways human beings learn: by observing others (directly or vicariously) and by trying things out for themselves.” Deborah Meier
