Although an important part of the School, the half day 2s and 3s are distinct in the fact that parents are not part of the cooperative. These parents have an opportuintiy to have one or two years of a high quality preschool program and examine whether or not this school and its progressive educational philosophy is the right fit for their child and thier whole family. It also gives families who are only interested in a full day of schooling the opportunity to have a natural entry point in Hoboken as well as Jersey City.
Parents of 3s may re-apply to the full day program for the following year. Parents of part-time students have no preference over families who have not been in the school when applying to the full-time programs.
Many parents of 2s & 3s choose to volunteer at School events and fundraising activities. Parents of 3s are required to spend time in the classroom as helping parents. Volunteering is not required and the ability to offer volunteer time is not considered when a family is re-applying to the full day program.
