Application Process 4s – Kindergarten

The 4s and PreK are both full day programs in Hoboken only (including early morning and afterschool care options). Children applying to the 4s program must turn four by September 1, 2011. The PreK students (older 4s) are in a mixed-age PreK/Kindergarten class. Children applying to the PreK must turn 5 by February 1, 2011.Children applying to the Kindergarten program must turn 5 by September 1, 2011.

Applications for the 4s, PreK and Kindergarten programs must be received by January 4, 2011.

  • Contact the school at anytime to request materials.
  • After September 1, schedule a tour of the school. Tours are by appointment only and spaces are limited. See the fall tour schedule for dates/times.
  • Open Houses provides an opportunity to visit our classrooms, talk to the teachers and hear from our alumni.
  • The application deadline is January 4, but applications should be submitted as soon as practical in the fall for enrollment the following September. Apply online or print an application.
  • Applicants for the 4s, PreK and Kindergarten programs will visit as part of a small group after school hours in January or February. Information about the child’s learning styles and needs is obtained from prior and current school records.
  • Parents are responsible for contacting the child's current school and requesting that the confidential recommendation forms be completed. The application process is not considered complete without the submission of these forms.
  • Parents of applicants for the 4s, PreK and Kindergarten will be interviewed by a teacher or school administrator at the same time their child does their group visit.
  • Parents of applicants are notified of admissions decisions during the first week of March.
  • A family is expected to sign a contract within two weeks of acceptance.
  • Families not accepted are either placed in a waitpool or denied admission.
