Open Houses are held in the fall of each school year.
Good, wholesome family fun will be the order of the day at our 8th
Annual Harvest Festival. Featuring activities for all ages—from
a farmers’ market to face painting—the
festival will take place in front of our elementary school in the Rue
Building on Garden Street between 3rd and 4th Streets in Hoboken. Other
planned activities include a used-book sale, cake walks (a la musical
chairs), ring tosses, paint-your-own-pumpkin,
“fishing” contests and many others. Autumnal fare
including chili, corn chowder, hot dogs, Halloween cupcakes and apple
cider will be for sale. The event will take place rain or shine.
Admission to the festival is free, while a fee is charged for each
activity. All proceeds will benefit the school's general operating
budget. If you have inquiries about this fall's Harvest Festival or
would like to volunteer to help out at the event, please call the
school (201-792-3688) and leave a message for co-chairs Keita Young,
Marianne vanDoorn and Michelle Perdue.
This evening features middle school students and their amazing variety
of talents. Dance acts choreographed exquisitely, bands playing pop
rock, magicians awing the audience, and comedy routines that fill the
gym with laughter. An evening for the whole family that begins with
pizza at 6:30 – show time 7:30. $6 at the door (everyone
pays!). Don't miss it!
The Newport Campus provides the perfect space for our annual Book Fair.
We open at 7:45 a.m. with coffee and
muffins and will continue until early evening on Friday and
mid-afternoon on Saturday. There will be a wide variety of
wonderful books for both children and adults. Don't forget to check out
the teachers' wish lists! Donating a book to your child's classroom
makes a wonderful gift. Many Stevens Cooperative students visit during
the school day with their classes. However, since time is limited and
there are many books to choose from, parents are encouraged to bring
their children for a return visit after school. Co-chairs Barbara Eisen
and Sara Stojkovic will be happy to answer any questions.
This is an ideal event for anyone looking to shake the winter blues by
watching Stevens students attempt to "wipe the court" with their
teachers and administrators. (Alumni, you may recognize some of the
players from your school days!) Proceeds from this event, which is held
in February in the gym of the Rue Building at 301 Garden Street, is our
faculty and student contribution to the Spring Auction proceeds. Now in
its 13th year, the students have won every game, so far! Admission is
$5.00 but the experience is priceless.
Our Spring Auction 2008 is set for Saturday, April 26, at the
Harborside Financial Center in Jersey City. If you would like
information about purchasing
tickets, placing an ad in our program book or contributing cash, goods
and services for prizes, please call the school (201-792-3688) and
leave a message for co-chairs Sarah Kreidler and Melanie Schwartz or
Director of Development, Rebecca Nichols.
Alumni over 18…this
is an ideal time to reunite with some of your former classmates and
give back to the school that helped get you started on your educational
journey!
Come join us for a day of golf on Monday, May 19, 2008. The proceeds
benefit the Stevens Cooperative School financial aid program. For
more information contact co chairs Laura Miani and Todd Kinney at golfouting@stevenscoop.org.
