History

Stevens Cooperative School, which was founded in 1949, is the only nonsectarian independent elementary school in Hoboken. Stevens is the oldest parent cooperative school in New Jersey, and an excellent model of progressive education in action. Originally an informal playgroup for children of the faculty at Stevens Institute of Technology, the School has grown into a full progressive nursery and elementary school, with campuses in Hoboken and Jersey City. Today the school serves nearly 400 students from 2s through the 8th grade.

Financial Aid

Need based financial aid is available to qualified families. Financial aid applications are done online at the time of application. All information can be found on the Admissions pages of the website.

Afterschool Program

3 - 6 p.m: Free of charge (full day programs only)

Afterschool Enrichment classes cost approximately $20 per class and are offered in trimesters.
Early Morning Drop-Off beginning at 7:45 or 8:00 am : free of charge (full day programs only)

Tours of the school are by appointment only and begin in October.
